| Tom Allen got his start at a local garden center while in high school. He started his own landscape company while pursuing his Landscape Management education at Purdue University. In 1973, Tom and his wife Paula began full time operations of Allen Landscape Construction at their current location on 45th St. in Highland. What began with residential and commercial landscaping, soon developed into a larger design/build firm with a busy industrial maintenance department. Snow plowing operations began in 1979 and in 1986 the Allens realized another dream by opening Allen Landscape Garden Center. This year has seen the expansion of the Garden Center after the purchase of the property west of the current store. The design team includes Tom Allen a licensed Landscape Architect, Doug Werner (Purdue University/BS Agriculture) and licensed Landscape Architect along with Landscape Designer Melissa Mravec (University of Wisconsin/BS in Landscape Architecture). Our landscape and maintenance supervisors and foremen have the knowledge and expertise to get the job done professionally and quickly. We are a licensed and bonded, our crews are members of The United Steelworkers union. Our Garden Center staff is known for it's years of experience and for continuing to learn all that is new and exciting in the horticultural field so as to serve you better. |
